Project: the craft room - done!

Yay! The craft room is done!

craft room after1

OK, 90% done. I still have to paint a set of wall shelves, paint a rolling cart, and paint the trim. The shelves and rolling cart I'll hopefully get started on today, but the trim will have to wait another month for the paint on the walls to fully cure.

Almost all the storage items are from various thrift stores.

craft room after3

That's not even half of my yarn. The rest is in big bags under the table on the opposite side of the room. I really need to either get rid of some of it, or just use it!

But I'm very happy with how it's turned out. It makes me happy and creative to be in there, which was the goal.

Your craft room is BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm terribly jealous.

I have so much yarn that I refuse to even count how many rubbermaid totes are full downstairs and how many bags and drawers upstairs. I tell myself that it's ok to have so much cause I need to have 1)handspun, 2) crochet yarn and 3) weaving yarn. Yes, I totally try to pretend like 2 and 3 are different beasts just to justify having more ;)

Looks terrific! I have to get some of those Rubbermaid drawer things, but only have one thrift shop around here and hate paying $20 each for them. I have no shelves either and use big zipper bags and totes for my yarn. I am jealous too!

That looks great - love the paint (even with the purple trim)...but isn't it hard to sew on the filing cabinet? ;)
