Little Fred Goes to SoCal 2004
Little Fred is my traveling companion, and he's
a stuffed bear. Go on. Make fun of me. I don't care.

Little Fred and I traveled to Southern California to attend the
San Diego
Comic Con.

We had a brief layover in Las
Vegas. Time from getting off the plane to seeing a slot machine?
18 seconds.

We made another stop, where Little Fred turned down an offer to
go mountain climbing.

Little Fred made many friends at Comic Con...

Including actor Anthony
Cistaro.

And this guy, who thought bears tasted like chicken.

It wasn't all comics. We went out for dinner at the Bali
Hai Restaurant. Little Fred and I shared a dish called "Evil
Monkey Prince." No monkeys were harmed in the making of the
meal.

We then moved on to visit a friend
in Pasadena.
On one of our excusions, we visited the Huntington
Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens. This sculpture
is in the gardens.

This being near Los
Angeles, Little Fred spent plenty of time in traffic.

We also visited the Coroner's office. Really. They have a gift
shop.

The tar pits
were a little creepy. Note the diorama in the background of a baby
mammoth watching one of its parents drown in the pit. Freaky.

Little Fred considered auditioning for a role in the next Harry
Potter movie, but he didn't like what this crystal ball at the Academy
of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences exhibit
showed him.
