I found what I believe to be a cashmere and angora sweater at the thrift store this past weekend. The yarn is beautiful, but the style? Not so much.

(It's more purple than pink, really)
So I ripped it all out and came up with a nice bunch of yarn. About 4.7 oz. of a light worsted weight yarn of a type I'd never be able to afford.

I'm already working on a christmas present from it - a lacy scarf. Not bad for $2!

5 And you thought...
It's really pretty!
That is very nice, good thinking. Can't wait to see the scarf!
That is some really lovely yarn - good for you! So far, I have not had a lot of success with frogging a whole sweater, I seem to be cutting the yarn more often than the thread used to sew up the seams. I'm also finding myself with the attention of a two-year-old when I try to work on that project, amazing!
The darker pink nubbies didn't even show in the sweater picture, that was a surprise! How long did it take you to reduce this sweater down to those lovely fuzzy balls?
It only took me a couple hours - it ripped out really easily. And I expected it to be a real pain, so that was nice.
wooooo very cool looking yarn! and very cool idea to get something not so attractive but thrifty and turn it into your own creation! =D
