That was the bill for Kaylee's fun-filled evening at the vet's. Youch! Good thing she's cute. And, of course, she was back to her normal, obnoxious self by Friday morning - you'd never know a damned thing was wrong with her. Her bloodwork came back "perfect" so I guess the ulcers are just from stress. [rolls eyes] She has a very tough life, you know, being a spoiled rotten brat. But we'll be heading back to the vet's to make someone else's car payment in a couple weeks to see if the ulcers have cleared up. If not ... well, who knows!
Other than that, no big excitement over the weekend. I started a new sweater for Kaylee for the winter. I hope to get it finished and written up fairly soon so I can submit it to the 2007 Crochet Pattern a Day calendar. I've already had two patterns accepted for it (but I'm not telling which two :), which is pretty cool, but I'd like some more in there. :)
Last night, Hurricane Katrina pushed some rain up from the south, and at three in the morning, we were awoken by a very disgruntled Indy, who sleeps near our south-facing open bedroom window. He and his bed and the floor were soaking wet. I toweled everything off and closed the window, but he didn't want to go back into his bed. So he came up with us (and Kaylee, who was pissed about having to share her bed with a big, sprawling dog :). But we needed the rain, so a few hours of sleeping with another bed hog was worth it. And we should be getting more rain tomorrow from the remains of Katrina, also good.

4 And you thought...
Glad to hear she's doing better and learning to share ;0)
No offense, but when regular annual check-ups cost $80+ each for my cats, your bill sounds oddly reasonable... for all that they did to her.
Although, it's roughly the same as what a human would have been charged for the same procedures!!
Lindsey, I think it's reasonable, too, but it certainly wasn't bugeted. My vets are the most expensive in town, but we are happy to pay that because they're good. But I think I'm entitled to be a little shocked when it was out of the blue and completely unexpected, don't you think?
Completely. I HATE unexpected expenses. I try to predict the future as much as possible, but then, yeah, your dog gets ulcers. What can you do?
